
About Shane Hernandez
From Student to Filmmaker
Shane Hernandez was raised in Fountain Valley, California, where he first discovered his passion for filmmaking through video production in High School. He continued to hone his craft at Loyola Marymount University, where he directed two original short films, The Unlucky Rabbit and Meadowhawk. Shane is most passionate about directing, with additional experience in documentary and music video production, including Fiction Non Fiction: Wild and Bound.

2016-2020
In high school, Shane Hernandez developed a passion for filmmaking by joining Fountain Valley High School's video production Program "BBN." He worked in the program for three years and held the titles of Sports Producer and ran the program as Producer for his Senior year. He was awarded the Coronet award for Journalism, the highest honor at his high school.
Orange Coast College
2020-2021
During the pandemic, Shane attended Orange Coast College where he continued his pursuit in the industry by taking film and media studies courses on the history of Production. He later transferred to Loyola Marymount University.
Loyola Marymount University
2021-2025
In 2021, Shane transferred to LMU and would go on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Production, as well as a minor in Film and Media Studies. For his thesis films, he went on to make Meadowhawk, The Unlucky Rabbit and Wild and Bound.
